Free Stock Photos
Do you have a web site, but don’t have an easy way to get photos to display on your web site? Research shows that having captivating images in your blog posts will make your posts more memorable.
Check out FreeStockPhotos.com. This site does not have a lot of free stock photos, but the number is growing and the shots are pretty good.
You should also check out iStockPhoto.com. They also have royalty free photos available for download.
Don’t get me wrong. There are a ton of free stock photo sites. I am planning on starting one myself. Some of these sites blast you with ads and others want you to pay for a membership to the site in order to get access to better photos and more sizes. I want to start mine because I love photography and love to share and undercut those out there wanting to gouge the public.

The connection?
There’s a place in the world today for free books, software, music and so on with very different models.
I offer, for example, one of my own short stories as a free book and you can write Open Source software and commercial programmes too.
So being a stock photographer doesn’t mean “gouging the public” as you put it.
The market for stock photography includes commercial corporations who have specific needs and specific budgets.
There’s room for many models today.

lol, I can kind of understand the sentiment about “gouge the public” it’s true that a lot of the traditional stock houses were pretty dammed expensive and sites like istockphoto are making millions out of individuals uploading and keywording images for them!
I set up valuestockphoto.com as an alternative for my work, more than 4000 images that you can use free of charge on a blog or website, and if you need a higher resolution commercial licence then you can buy one at low cost.
