Recycle For FREE
If your trash hauler charges you to take your recyclables, kick them to the curb and do your recycling at your local community recycling center. Most communities have one. Check with your city hall for details. There is no reason you should have to pay someone to take something away, just to have them get paid again for selling what they took. There was just a mandate put in place by the county that all haulers in the unincorporated part of the county have to accept recycling, but I don’t think they said anything about it being free. My hauler does not have to offer it for free.
Unfortunately, sometimes you have to pay for it regardless. In my city, you pay one bill to the refuse collection people that included recycling.
