Cheap (or Free) Entertainment
You work hard, right? You deserve a little relaxation and entertainment every once in a while. Cost is always a factor. Going to the movies these days can cost a small fortune. If you want to go on a week’s vacation, you need to get a loan.
You deserve to relax and enjoy yourself, so here are some ways to save money on entertainment:
- If you must go to the movies, try going to a matinée instead of going at prime time. The price is a lot cheaper and you’ll have to deal with a lot less people.

- Movie rentals are as cheap as they are going to get, in my opinion. With Netflix
, you can get movies for less than a dollar, on average. There is also RedBox. $1.00 a movie is pretty cheap. To get movies for free, go to the library.
- If you want to dine out, use coupons. Coupons can save you a lot of money. On a two-for-one deal, two people can eat for the price of one.
- Want to see a play? Go to a high school play. They are usually open to the public. Living in a large community, such as St. Louis, one might be able to see a play every Friday of the school year.
- Visit a museum, which is typically free or low cost.
- Visit a playground or park. It’s free and you also get the benefit of exercise.
- Grand openings or open houses can be very interesting and entertaining.
- See new movies for free at www.go4ent.com and www.movie6.net
- You can get cheap movies, books, and CDs at www.half.com
Cheap or free methods of entertainment are all over the place. Leave any suggestions you might have in a comment.
